Pine Forest is a Christian school which opened in 1997 and is now a member of ISASA (Independent Schools Association of South Africa) and registered with the Gauteng Department of Education.
Separated into two schools, the Nursery School is where little ones from 18 months go to be loved, nurtured and have a load of fun. The Pre-Primary School classes up to Grade 00 provide a guided curriculum getting children ready for “Big School”.
Pine Forest offers a wonderful selection of extra murals as well as providing access to learning and development support professionals.
WHat we offer
MORNING PROGRAMME
The school is open from 7am, or 6.40am for an early drop-off. The day is filled with learning, playing and engaging activities, and after a rest (or sleep for the little ones) children are fetched at 2pm.
holiday care
Holiday care is included in our school fees, except for the December summer holidays when the school closes.
CLEAN WATER
The backup water tanks are fitted with commercial 3 stage water filters and UV lights to clean out any dirt and bacteria.
LUNCH
A healthy and varied daily cooked lunch is provided at an extra charge. Our kitchen team produces wonderful food all year round.
EVENTS
We host school events throughout the year including Parents Evening, Sports Day, Fun Day, year-end Concert and Nativity Play and Mom’s & Dad’s Breakfasts. These are great times to witness the brilliance of your little one and to enjoy a social time with other parents.
FULL DAY PROGRAMME
Our full-day programme allows working parents peace of mind, knowing their child is in loving hands, and having a lot of fun. Afternoon snacks are provided. The school closes at 5.30pm.
BACKUP POWER
Our school is fitted with solar and battery systems, as well as generators for any extra power if needed.
CLEAN AIR
All our classrooms are fitted with medical grade HEPA air filters with UV lights, to ensure smog, dust, allergens and bacteria are removed.
SNACKS
A morning & afternoon snack is provided to all children and is included in the fees. Snacks include small sandwiches, muffins or the like. Fresh fruit is always included. There is drinking water available at all times.
OUTSIDE VISITORS
Each month, aligned to one of our weekly themes, we bring in a fun outside visitor. From farm animals, to puppet shows, to live theatre and a visit from the fire brigade, these are much anticipated and enjoyed times on our calendar! The dog show is always a big hit!
AFTERCARE PROGRAMME
Aftercare is offered to all Pine Forest children and is split into two age groups. The children play, dance, create art, listen to music and have fun with their friends all under the watchful eye of our afternoon teams.
BACKUP WATER
We use water tanks tied-into the main supply to ensure continued access to water. We have at least 3 days backup water at all times. For our gardens, we harvest rainwater from our roofs.
BREAKFAST
Breakfast is served to all children should they wish and is included in the school fees. It is a wonderful thing for parents to see their child eating breakfast with no fuss.
COFFEE TRAILER
For the parents we sell Bean There coffees made by our expert barista. There are also freezos in summer and hot chocolate for those cool winter mornings.
GRANDPARENTS
Starting in 2024, we will engage regularly with our class reps to bring in interested grandparents to read to our children. With the primary aim of fostering a love or reading in the children, the grandparents will also provide a greater sense of community.
